Fabric Glossary
Lawn, cambric, karandi — what they are, and when to wear them.
Lawn
Pakistan's beloved summer fabric — a lightweight, breathable plain-weave cotton that keeps you cool through the hottest months. Sapphire lawns are known for vibrant prints that stay crisp wash after wash.
Cambric
A finely woven, slightly denser cotton with a smooth, almost silky surface. Cambric holds embroidery beautifully and drapes elegantly — a step up in refinement from everyday lawn.
Swiss Voile
An ultra-light, semi-sheer cotton with a soft, airy hand. Voile suits feel featherlight and are perfect for formal summer occasions when you want to look polished without overheating.
Silk
The queen of fabrics — natural silk has an unmatched lustre and fluid drape. Used in our festive and luxury pret for its rich sheen and graceful movement.
Chiffon
A sheer, flowing fabric with a slightly textured feel. Chiffon dupattas and overlays add romance and movement to formal and festive outfits.
Organza
Crisp, sheer and structured — organza holds its shape, making it ideal for statement sleeves, dupatta borders and festive layering.
Karandi
A warm winter-weight fabric with a soft, cozy texture. Karandi suits in rich, deep tones are a Pakistani winter wardrobe staple.
Khaddar
A homespun-style winter cotton with beautiful texture and warmth. Khaddar prints bring rustic charm to cold-weather dressing.
Linen
Made from flax fibers, linen is breathable, strong and gets softer with every wash. Its natural slubs give it an effortless, organic elegance.
Cotton Net
A delicate open-weave fabric often used for dupattas and overlays. Cotton net adds lightness and intricate texture to festive ensembles.
Jacquard
Woven — not printed — with raised patterns created on the loom itself. Jacquard fabrics have a rich, textured depth that prints can't replicate.
Velvet
Plush, opulent and unapologetically luxurious. Velvet is reserved for winter formals and wedding-season showstoppers.
